Armed Forces Day.
We popped into town on Saturday just to get out in the fresh air and enjoy the nice weather and found it was Armed Forces Day. There were so many people out and about to honour the lives of those who are currently fighting for us right now and honouring those who have fallen whether it is in recent years or in previous wars.
There were a lot of veterans in town too watching the parades and the young army cadettes took part in a lot of the entertainment. Both Patrick and I said how it puts your life into perspective to think of what those veterans have seen and been through. The kind of stuff we wouldn't even wish to see in our nightmares.
There were different stalls raising money in various ways such as selling wristbands and a very impressive artillery weapon which I just had to take a picture of to share!
