Whenever the sun is shining it feels as though anything is possible...you somehow feel as though you have been gifted more hours in a day to fit in both work and social time or just one big day full of adventure.
The smell of the air is different; it's grass mixed with heat and it smells amazing! To walk out into the garden, to the freezer in the garage to grab something for dinner early doors and feel an already strong heat beaming onto my skin through my dressing gown makes me happy and excited for the day ahead.
Long hot summer days remind me of my teen years where every day (well ok, every summer holiday day) held the potential to become anything. It could be the best day ever. We could have ended up walking somewhere miles away just for the sake of it or some big drama could have happened with someone that we just HAD to go and sort out / investigate / nose into. We could be productive and go to the seaside on the train and get sick on chips and ice cream or even just hang out at the park. Whatever we ended up doing no matter how simple, it would be fun.
I don't know about you but even though I am now an adult I still get that same childish sense of adventure when the sun comes out. I want to walk for miles or get in the car and go somewhere spontaneous to go and enjoy the rays of heat to their full potential. Even just lazing in a field with a picnic sounds like the best day EVERRR when the sun has his hat on.
Today is meant to be the hottest day of the year so far so if you get the chance, enjoy it a little. Go out on your lunch hour or come home from work and eat dinner al fresco with a glass of something yummy and fizzy. I am planning to go to the park and watch Savannah run around and pick daisies (her new fave thing to do at the park) and then enjoy a picnic and the swings. I can't wait! It makes it so much easier to entertain a 13 month old when you can go do stuff outside!
Have a lovely sunny hump day everyone and lets keep our fingers and newly manicured, sunshine ready tootsies crossed for weather just like todays!
