Hubby after running this year's marathon. |
On Sunday my husband Patrick ran his second London Marathon raising money for St. Luke's Hospice in Basildon, who cared for his dad Terry in the last stages of his battle with cancer. They also supported the family after Terry passed away.
On the train home at the end of last years marathon and after a couple of beers, Patrick's brother Lee said he reckoned he could also run the marathon and told Patrick to sign him up for it. Words I think he regretted initially the next day but a year on, he ran and completed it along with his fiancée Jodie. They both worked really hard to get in shape to run and did brilliantly, well done guys!
I had a great day with my sister in law Shelby and her friend Leanne, drinking a few beers and following them along whilst watching all the other inspirational runners. It truly is an amazing day out and there is such a buzz in town throughout the whole event.
Well done to everyone who ran the marathon Sunday - you are a true inspiration and should be extremely proud of yourself no matter what time you ran it in. I would never do it and admire everyone of you who has.
