Tales from the sofa.

Recently while going through our bills and looking at where we could cut back, we phoned up Sky to see what we could do about reducing the cost of our monthly bills (although because hubby won't part with his beloved Sky Sports package there wasn't much budge on the price). Whilst on the call though we were told we must take advantage of Sky On Demand, a free service that is best described as being a bit like Netflix (although Netflix has much more of a back catalogue!). For anyone who hasn't hooked their sky up to their internet yet to unlock this treasure trove of extra TV; DO IT, DO IT NOW!

We did set it up that day and couldn't believe we had waited so long, especially as it took no time at all. Since then we have gone from generally hardly watching any telly to plonking our fat arses on the sofa on a Sunday with drinks and snacks and not moving until we have worked our way through a whole box set of something that has taken our fancy (currently it's 'Blue Bloods' and American cop series with Tom Selleck) or about four films back to back. It is amazing!

On demand also has 'catch up' so you can watch any soaps or TV shows you have missed on your telly rather than online. I discovered re runs of 'The Upper Hand' on ITV player, which was one of my favourite sitcoms growing up and have been watching it as soon as I get in from work before I start dinner. I can't help it! I also spent Saturday morning watching series one of 'Spaced' and 'The I.T. Crowd' while my other half was at work. A great way to start the weekend! Yes I am fast becoming a couch potato....

I now finally get it. When people would say they had spent their lazy weekend watching box sets or films with their other halves I wouldn't really get why. Don't get me wrong, when I was single and either too skint or hungover to go out I loved nothing better than being tucked up and watching endless episodes of my favourite series or films but haven't done it for years!

Now I am back to being addicted.

It is a great way to keep ourselves entertained while we stay in and save up our money. We have so many films to work our way through I think we will be millionaires by the time we have finished with them!

Now, before I make myself look anymore like an affiliate for Sky (I am not at all by the way, I just wanted to write about this fab discovery!) I have another box set to get through...

I don't know what I would do without 'on demand' TV and catch up. We have Virgin but it has a similar package. My fave box sets are Dexter and Body of Proof, check them out if you like crime/thriller type progs.
Have a lovely Easter

We have the same thing over here, it's called Comcast Xfinity On Demand (a little pretentious, no?). Some days it's so nice to turn off the brain, veg out and watch trashy TV.

I love your writing BTW. You're a bit like me that you write a bunch, but I love it.

That is exactly the kind of day we had yesterday - vegged out to the point I forgot my name! Was lush though :) and as the other half was hungover it was well needed!

Will have a little nose at your blog now! Thanks for reading :)
