Let's get WRITE to it...
Over the last couple of weeks I have been getting back into other forms of writing as well as keeping my blog up to date. For those who read this and don't have a blog themselves you wouldn't believe the amount of time and effort that actually goes into keeping this baby up to date and promoting it! (Although people who don't blog but follow me on Twitter actually probably do know how much I promote it, in fact they probably avoid my tweets now). The point is, it is like a second job. I like to plan what I am going to write about to avoid writing bland, dull posts about nothingness and if I am not blogging I am networking and trying find ways of reaching a bigger audience and finding new bloggers to follow and read about. It can be a lot of extra work! I enjoy it of course, it is just now that I am wanting to get back to writing my book and start work on a script idea I have had in my head forever, it is going to be hard to split the time evenly. I think I am actually going to have to make myself a timetable! Sunday's are always a good day as football is on ALL DAY and so gives me plenty of time to write and blog. I need to split my time productively so that I get lots of what I want to write done and don't just focus on either blogging, the book or the script. I don't tend to be very good at orgnaising time so it will be a challenge but I need to get into the habit of having a schedule and working to mental deadlines in case I ever do get the opportunity to write professionally and have deadlines to write to for real!
The script is the project I am most nervous about as I haven't done any script writing since I did my course four years ago and there is a very strict process to writing a script and setting it out correctly and professionally for it to ever be taken seriously. Once I have brushed up on old notes and scripts though I should be fine! I am just at the planning stage currently where I am writing my character profiles and the basic 'bones' of my idea so don't have to brush up on my old, dusty notes just yet!
Wish me luck!
